PERFORMANCE ISSUES CONCERNING R8184
INTERMITTENT OIL PRIMARY CONTROL AND INVENTORY BALANCING PLAN (1/14/2000)
A parts supplier for the R8184
Intermittent Oil Primary Control has notified Honeywell's manufacturing management that
one of the components may fail if exposed to electrical noise and electrostatic discharge.
The failure of the component may result in a potential chattering relay. This potential
failure is not a safety-related issue. We are asking that you return inventory in
stock date coded 9740 to 9922.
We are requesting the following:
Notify your Honeywell Customer Service representative of the number
of R8184 units in your inventory with date codes 9740 to 9922, which you will be returning
for credit;
Prior to your return, we will send you an equal number of units to
you;
Any difference in unit count will be invoiced / credited accordingly;
Notify your contractor base that the R8184's with date codes 9740 to
9922 will have an extended warranty of two years from date of installation.
Effective immediately, all Honeywell R8184's will have a two-year
warranty.
